Russian strike on Kyiv kills two and damages maternity hospital

Russian forces struck Kyiv with ballistic missiles overnight on September 24, killing two people and wounding eight, according to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko. A private house in the Dniprovskyi district was damaged with people possibly trapped under rubble, while drone debris in the Podil district set cars ablaze near a maternity hospital, killing one person and damaging the facility's facade and windows along with a nearby diagnostic center.

Warehouse buildings were partially destroyed in the Solomyanskyi district, Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported. Ukraine's Air Force Command said it shot down 227 missiles and drones over Ukrainian territory during the night.
