Tropical Storm Edouard was nearing landfall near Sabine Pass, Texas, with sustained winds close to 50 mph and the chance of briefly reaching hurricane strength fading as it approached the coast. The storm was expected to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and a storm surge of up to five feet across the Texas-Louisiana coastline.

Hurricane watches and storm surge warnings were issued from High Island, Texas, to Cameron, Louisiana, and several Houston-area school districts canceled classes ahead of the storm. Edouard, the fifth named storm of the 2026 Atlantic season, was forecast to weaken quickly after moving ashore.
