Fedorov en route to Washington

Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's recently ousted defense minister, was reportedly traveling to Washington D.C. late on Aug. 28, according to an RFE/RL correspondent's sourcing. The trip comes the same day Fedorov announced he had accepted an advisory role with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, tasked with helping Italy develop defense technology.

Fedorov said his main focus remains Ukraine and that his international travel would continue despite the new Italian posting. Earlier reporting suggested his Washington visit could relate to seeking U.S. support for holding wartime elections in Ukraine, though no official purpose has been confirmed.
