A large Ukrainian drone and missile strike hit Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk overnight, damaging two major grain export terminals and striking Russia's last significant naval base on the Black Sea. Three people, including an eight-year-old child, were killed and 24 injured, according to local officials, while Ukraine's military said four Russian warships, including two frigates, were hit.

President Zelensky described the strike as a unique operation targeting the Russian fleet, though he did not mention the grain terminal damage confirmed separately by trading companies to Russian media. Russia's agriculture ministry said it is redirecting cargo flows to Baltic and Caspian ports and land routes due to logistical constraints, without directly addressing the attack.

An emergency was declared in Novorossiysk after strikes on surrounding infrastructure suspended the city's water supply, and a man was killed by drone debris elsewhere in the region. Russian strikes on Ukraine over the same period killed at least 11 civilians, mostly in Zaporizhzhia, as both countries' attacks on shipping and ports continue to disrupt Black Sea grain exports and drive down Russian wheat export forecasts.
