Exclusive: Warehouse rents in western Ukraine triple amid Russian strikes

Warehouse rents in western Ukraine have tripled in some areas after Russian strikes destroyed logistics infrastructure elsewhere in the country, according to Berger Cargo co-founder Valeriy Baranovskiy. He attributes part of the spike to speculation as companies scramble for available space, and expects the market to stabilize within about two months.

The strikes have hit warehouses belonging to Rozetka, Epicentr, Nova Poshta, Silpo, Puma, Intertop, Bosch, and Novus among others, with losses in the billions of dollars. Ukraine's Agrarian Policy Minister said Russia had destroyed about 90 percent of grocery chains' logistics capacity as of late August.
