Russian forces strike port and civilian infrastructure in Odesa Oblast

Russian drones struck the port and civilian infrastructure of Kiliia, a Danube river town in Odesa Oblast near the Romanian border, overnight into Sept. 27, according to the Izmail District Administration; a resulting fire was extinguished and no casualties were reported in the initial update.

The strike follows an attack four days earlier on Sept. 23 that hit a cargo ship flying the flag of Antigua and Barbuda, killing its Ukrainian captain, and warehouses storing medicine, household goods and food in the same region.

A World Health Organization warehouse in nearby Chornomorsk was also damaged on Sept. 22, the fourth WHO facility hit in Ukraine in three months and the 21st documented attack on medical storage sites in the country this year.
