Stella Parton posted on Instagram that her family has faced ‘incredible pressure and insensitivity from strangers’ since her sister Dolly Parton's death, blaming a flood of AI-generated content and misinformation. She did not name specific posts, but the timing follows President Trump sharing an AI-generated image on Truth Social depicting himself and Dolly Parton walking arm in arm through a White House colonnade, an event for which no real photograph exists.

Trump also told Glenn Beck's audience that Dolly Parton ‘really liked’ him but stayed publicly neutral to avoid alienating fans. Dolly Parton was known mainly for staying out of politics, though she did voice support for LGBTQ+ Tennesseans and said Black Lives Matter, both positions that sit awkwardly next to the current administration's record.

Stella Parton, unlike her sister, has long been openly critical of Trump. Her post asked people to show ‘compassion and wisdom’ and use her sister's life as a model of tolerance rather than fodder for viral commentary.
