Lokesh Kanagaraj's DC collected Rs. 6.50 crore on its fourth day, beating its opening-day Friday total of Rs. 5.25 crore by 23 per cent. The film has now grossed Rs. 30 crore in India across four days, with trade watchers projecting a first-week total near Rs. 40 crore.
Collections climbed steadily over the weekend — Rs. 5.25 crore Friday, Rs. 7.50 crore Saturday, Rs. 10.75 crore Sunday — before Monday's dip to Rs. 6.50 crore, still considered a strong retention number. The film, a modern take on Devdas starring Wamiqa Gabbi, performed well beyond Tamil Nadu, adding Rs. 9.50 crore there plus solid numbers in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana, and Karnataka.
Kerala in particular tripled its opening day take by Monday, while the film's Rs. 30 crore gross puts it on pace for a self-declared 'Clean Hit' designation by week's end.
