56 Ukrainians missing after deadly flash flood in Nepal

Ukraine's Foreign Ministry says 56 Ukrainian citizens remain unaccounted for after flash flooding tied to a glacier collapse struck Nepal and Tibet on August 26, with the missing list growing by one as of August 27. The ministry said no Ukrainians are currently confirmed among the injured or dead.

The flooding sent water levels on the Trishuli River rising 9 meters in 30 minutes, with the worst damage along the Lhende Khola River. Nepali authorities report at least 168 dead and 826 missing overall, including roughly 500 tourists, while Chinese state media reported 260 foreigners among 558 missing in Tibet.

Nepal's army and police are conducting search-and-rescue operations with about 15 helicopters involved.
