Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said 417 Ukrainian drones flew toward the Moscow region overnight, with most intercepted at distance and another 65 downed closer to the city; three Moscow airports imposed temporary flight restrictions. State news agency TASS called it one of the largest such attempts this year, and no casualties were reported in Moscow.
In the Kaluga region, Governor Vladislav Shapsha said 73 drones were destroyed, with damage to a school building, two private homes, and a vehicle in the Mosalsky district. No casualties were reported there either.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Four hundred and seventeen drones is a number big enough to make you blink, and a government that counts them out loud wants you blinking at the scale, not asking what got through anyway. A damaged school building tends to get a smaller headline than the big round intercept total, which is probably exactly how officials like the arithmetic to land.
