Russian shelling damages orthodox church in Kramatorsk

Russian shelling damaged the Church of St. John the Baptist in Kramatorsk, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church's press service reported, with photos showing serious damage to the walls, roof, and dome. Ukraine's State Emergency Service said Russian forces dropped an aerial bomb on residential areas of the city on the evening of Sept. 22, damaging ten apartment buildings, the church, and a car.

It is not yet known whether anyone on or near the church grounds was hurt. The strike follows earlier attacks on Kramatorsk this month, including a Sept. 20 airstrike that injured two people and set fire to an educational facility, and a prior guided-bomb attack that killed a woman and injured a man.
