Ukrainian drones struck the Black Sea resort area of Sochi and the nearby town of Sirius overnight on September 4, sparking a fire at an oil depot, according to Russia's Krasnodar Krai Operational Headquarters.

The depot's ownership was not officially confirmed, though the Telegram channel Astra attributed it to a Rosneft subsidiary. Preliminary reports found no injuries, though windows were damaged in residential buildings and black smoke rose over the city.

Ukrainian monitoring channels also claimed strikes on Russian air defense systems near Sirius and on facilities in Bashkortostan, including a petrochemical plant and a defense enterprise, none of which Russian authorities confirmed. The pattern echoes earlier strikes this spring on a refinery complex in Tuapse, which caused repeated 'oil rain' and spills into local waterways.
