CNN's Harry Enten told Kaitlan Collins that Democratic primary turnout this year has topped 25 million voters so far, already ahead of the 23 million who turned out across all of 2018, a year Democrats used to flip the House. Enten noted that since 2006, the party with higher primary turnout has always gone on to win the House, and called the current numbers evidence of a president who is 'deeply underwater.' This year's cycle includes 35 Senate seats, all 435 House seats, and 36 governorships up for election, with Republicans currently holding narrow majorities in both chambers.

Enten did flag a weak spot for Democrats: Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed has a minus-13% net favorability rating, compared to Iowa's Josh Turek at a positive 18%. He separately pointed to Democratic Senate candidates leading in Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas by as much as double digits, a potential shift in states that haven't elected a Democratic senator in decades in the latter two cases.

When your own hand-picked data guy describes your position as 'deeply underwater' on national television, that's not spin, that's just arithmetic wearing a nicer tie. Trump reportedly quotes this same analyst's numbers when they flatter him, so it will be worth watching whether he keeps citing the source once the numbers stop cooperating.
