Russian strikes on Kyiv and the surrounding region kill three, including a child, and wound seven

Russian forces struck Kyiv and the surrounding region early on September 30 with drones and missiles, killing two people and injuring four in the capital, according to the city administration. Fires broke out in the Sviatoshynskyi, Holosiivskyi, Podilskyi, and Solomianskyi districts, Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported.

A separate strike in the Kyiv region killed a child, whose body rescuers found while clearing rubble from a private home; a woman, a man, and another child were injured in that attack. The Ukrainian Air Force command said Russia launched 188 drones of various types along with anti-ship and ballistic missiles in the overall assault.
