Jurors began deliberating Monday in the murder trial of Duane 'Keffe D' Davis, accused in the 1996 shooting of Tupac Shakur, after prosecutors argued other evidence corroborates Davis's own statements and book placing him in Las Vegas that night.

Prosecutor Binu Palal cited surveillance footage, hotel receipts, and witness testimony about a gang rivalry and a mall altercation that preceded the shooting, arguing Davis had incentive to tell the truth in a 2008 proffer to federal agents.

Defense attorney Michael Sanft argued Davis fabricated his account for protection and profit, pointed to inconsistencies in his statements over the years, and said no evidence proves his client was even in Las Vegas that night.
