President Trump, asked outside the White House what a third impeachment might mean for him, said he is getting good at it, before heading to another rally in a friendly state.

He called the prospect a fake impeachment and claimed he could have pursued impeachment-style action against Joe Biden or Hillary Clinton but chose not to out of propriety.

Trump was impeached twice in his first term, on abuse of power and incitement charges, and acquitted both times by the Senate.

The remarks come as Democrats hold a nine-point lead on the generic congressional ballot and Trump's approval sits at 37 percent, per polling averages cited in the report.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
Getting good at being impeached is a strange thing to brag on, like a man boasting he's gotten real quick at changing flat tires without asking why he keeps driving over nails. As for holding back on Biden and Clinton out of propriety, that's the first anybody's heard of the propriety. With his approval at 37 percent, the people he ought to worry about aren't in the Senate this time.
