President Trump posted an image on Truth Social depicting supposed 'next generation' Space Force uniforms, captioning it as inspired by the 'discipline and functionality' of the uniforms in the 1997 film Starship Troopers. That film's costuming was deliberately modeled on Nazi Germany as satire of militarism and fascism, a detail the post did not mention.

Anytime a costume department sets out to make the audience uneasy and it works, that is the whole point of the costume. Somebody skipped to the pretty pictures and stopped there. And nobody in the room, apparently, was willing to raise a hand and mention how the movie ends.
