Lublin Airport in Poland temporarily suspended operations Monday so military aircraft could operate freely, after Russian forces launched ballistic and cruise missiles at Kyiv overnight followed by drone strikes. The airport sits roughly 100 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Polish armed forces were placed on alert and scrambled jets in response to the strikes. In Kyiv, debris and fires were reported across five districts, with two people killed and ten injured, five of them hospitalized.
