Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico appeared on Jimmy Kimmel's show, an interview Kimmel says was pulled from broadcast television over FCC pressure and posted only to YouTube instead. Talarico riffed on Trump's convention-stage mockery of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, quipping that Trump might have 'buyer's remorse' over backing Paxton against Sen. John Cornyn, and closed with a mock campaign-ad line: 'I approve that message.'

The White House, through spokesperson Davis Ingle, denied that FCC Chairman Brendan Carr threatened ABC or Kimmel over the interview, calling Kimmel's account an 'egocentric delusion' and daring outlets to find proof. Talarico, for his part, framed the episode as powerful people 'censoring what we watch, what we read, what we say.'
