Fire Point says its FP-1 drone struck the Ryazan Oil Refinery, one of Russia's largest, with a capacity of about 17 million metric tons of oil a year, and video shows a fire following the attack.

The plant had only recently resumed crude processing after a July 29 Ukrainian drone strike forced a halt, according to Reuters. Industry figures cited put its 2024 output at 13.1 million metric tons of crude, about 4.9 percent of Russia's total refining volume, along with millions of tons of gasoline, diesel and fuel oil.

The strike is one entry in a long-running campaign against Russian refining capacity, with Ukrainian drone makers increasingly willing to publicize their own handiwork.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
A refinery that gets hit twice in six weeks isn't unlucky, it's just on a schedule now. Whoever patched it up the first time might want to ask for their money back.
