Drones struck the industrial zone of Nizhnekamsk in Russia's Tatarstan Republic overnight, an area housing several of Russia's largest oil refineries, according to Telegram channels Exilenova+ and Astra. Locals reported hearing drones and a series of explosions, along with Russian air defense systems operating near the industrial cluster.
The zone includes TANECO, among Russia's five largest refineries with a stated capacity of more than 16 million tons of crude annually, and TAIF-NK, which processes over 7 million tons of oil and gas condensate a year. Also nearby is Nizhnekamskneftekhim, a major petrochemical producer with a reported monopoly position in parts of the Russian synthetic rubber and plastics market. TANECO was previously struck by drones last month.
