Senate Democratic campaign chair Kirsten Gillibrand said her party could flip as many as six Senate seats in November, pointing to the president's approval ratings and comparing the moment to the 2006 wave election. She named Alaska, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas as targets while expressing confidence Georgia, Michigan and New Hampshire will hold.
Republicans currently hold a modest fundraising edge, $176 million to $163 million through the DSCC and NRSC as of Aug. 31, while the RNC holds a nine-figure advantage over the DNC and Trump's MAGA Inc. super PAC has more than $400 million on hand. Cook Political Report rates five of Gillibrand's six target states as tossups, with North Carolina leaning Democratic.

Every campaign chair in the country says their side has the momentum this cycle; it's practically the job description. Gillibrand's math needs four net seats to flip the chamber and she's naming six targets, which either means real confidence or a wide margin for disappointment, and you won't know which until the votes are actually counted.
