Worcester taxi fare changes proposed by city council

Worcester City Council is proposing new hackney carriage fares, with a weekday daytime tariff of £5.60 for the first mile plus £2 per additional mile, and a higher night/Sunday/holiday tariff of £7.10 first mile plus £2.80 thereafter. Additional charges include 50p per passenger beyond three and a £75 fee for cleaning after passenger-caused mess.

The council is consulting on the changes from August 5 to August 19, with written objections due to the Licensing and Support Services Manager by that deadline. Absent objections, the new fares take effect August 20.
