Seth Meyers used his ‘Late Night’ summer hiatus update to mock Donald Trump's executive order renaming Lake Ontario as Lake America, an action with no standing outside the United States, similar to Trump's earlier ‘Gulf of America’ order. Meyers zeroed in on the promotional video's map, where Trump crossed out both ‘Lake’ and ‘Ontario’ before writing in the new name, asking why the word ‘Lake’ needed crossing out at all.
Meyers called the stunt ‘real dork sh*t’ and said it reflected an administration that ‘can't actually accomplish anything’ beyond symbolic gestures nobody outside its own orbit recognizes.

Renaming somebody else's lake on a map only your own government prints is the geopolitical version of writing your name on the break room fridge and calling it yours. Canada didn't get a vote, the water didn't move, and the only thing that changed is which crayon crossed out which word. When a president spends executive time on cartography stunts, you have to wonder what's not getting done while the map gets colored in.
