The Russian Embassy in London accused Britain of deliberately escalating the war in Ukraine after reports that UK-made drones struck Russian oil refineries and warehouses this summer, warning of unspecified 'consequences.' The embassy did not say what those consequences would be, continuing a pattern of similarly vague threats issued over past British weapons deliveries.

The Sunday Times reported Ukraine received two types of British drones, with ranges of roughly 150 and 600 miles, as part of an April aid package worth 500 million pounds including more than 150,000 drones; the BBC later got military confirmation of their use in strikes. Britain's Defense Ministry responded that it stands 'shoulder to shoulder' with Ukraine and remains committed to helping it fight what it called Putin's illegal invasion.

Separately, Russian forces struck the Ukrainian village of Pechenihy on Tuesday, killing 10 people and injuring 17 at a crowded intersection with homes and shops. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine would respond.
