Andrew and Tristan Tate, dual U.S.-British citizens, were arrested July 18 and are now in a Florida prison as the U.K. seeks their extradition on charges including rape and human trafficking. Andrew Tate built a following through a webcam porn business, 'Hustlers University,' and a persona of luxury and misogyny, framing his platform bans as proof of deep-state persecution. He cultivated ties to Trump world, from his lawyer's presence at Trump's 2022 campaign launch to a 2024 Twitter Spaces meme-coin promotion with Donald Trump Jr. and an associate's reported Mar-a-Lago meeting with Barron Trump.

Analysts say the White House now appears to be quietly distancing itself as the legal exposure grows, even as some MAGA media remains split on defending him. The relationship was less about ideology than about access to a young male audience Trump's camp wanted to reach.
