A St. Louis County judge granted Sterling Webb a temporary restraining order allowing him to play for Missouri, hours before the Tigers' season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Webb sued the NCAA over a new eligibility rule that strips fifth-year eligibility from athletes, like the high school class of 2022, who already used a fourth season without a redshirt in reserve.

The order came days after the 10th Circuit upheld the same rule in a nearly identical Colorado class action, though that ruling doesn't directly bind Webb's state case. Webb has since added the University of Missouri as a defendant and seeks an injunction plus access to roster and revenue-sharing money, while the NCAA moves to dismiss on jurisdictional grounds.
