A powerful nor'easter struck the East Coast over the weekend, killing one 56-year-old man when a tree fell and injuring four others, including children, according to CNN and BBC reporting. New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Jersey saw flooding that inundated homes and roads.

The storm forced roughly 500 flight cancellations and 4,000 delays, cut power to more than 110,000 customers at its peak, and prompted New Jersey and New York to declare states of emergency. New Jersey's governor said flooding forced dozens of evacuations and dozens of rescues from flooded vehicles and roads, while outages had fallen to about 80,000 by the following day.
