Florida Developmental Disabilities Council Executive Director Valerie Breen resigned Monday, citing a serious health matter and the end of her contract term.
Former Agency for Persons with Disabilities Director Jim DeBeaugrine, now a Tallahassee lobbyist, will serve as acting executive director while the council searches for a permanent replacement.
The council, which advises on policy for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, receives about $4 million annually in federal funding and is governed by 26 gubernatorial appointees.
