Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told parliament that intelligence assessments point to Russia planning ‘hybrid’ drone and missile strikes designed to look accidental against NATO countries backing Ukraine. He said such strikes would be intended to weaken NATO members' resolve to invoke mutual defense provisions after an attack on a member state.
Tusk linked the warning to recent incidents: NATO jets shot down a drone over Lithuania in September, later attributed to Russia, and drones have repeatedly drifted into Estonian, Lithuanian and Latvian airspace. He also cited a drone strike near the Polish-Ukrainian border and an attack close to a train carrying Western politicians returning from Ukraine.
Tusk further suggested Russia's timing could coincide with political shifts in Europe toward leaders framing capitulation to Russia as a peace platform.

Calling a missile strike an accident is a neat trick if you can get away with it, and Tusk is betting Moscow intends to try. When the warning about a staged accident arrives before the accident does, the smart money says somebody's already rehearsed the excuse. Neighbors who keep finding drones in their yard tend to stop believing in coincidence.
