Russia aims to leave Ukrainians without internet and communications — Zelenskyy

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia is deliberately striking Ukrainian data centers and telecom infrastructure in an effort to cut off internet access and communications, describing it as a visible and ongoing threat. He said the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief had approved countermeasures and assigned specific protective steps at every level.

Since September 23, Russian attacks have damaged multiple Kyiv data centers and internet providers, including UTELS, Pavutyna, Domonet, KIEVNET, FAUST, CityHost.UA, MiroHost and Datagroup, leaving roughly 100,000 households with disrupted service. The Cosmonova data center was hit repeatedly, including a third strike on the morning of September 26, and the company announced it would cease operating at that site due to the scale of destruction.
