A divorce coach named Olivia Howell coined the term 'weaponized pooping' in a Substack post describing how bathroom trips can function as cover for dodging domestic duties, since the excuse carries what she calls 'almost unlimited plausible deniability.' She says the habit lets one partner become 'temporarily dead to the family' while the other stays on call for kids, cooking, or the dog.
The post split opinion online, with some mothers relating and some men on social media pushing back, one calling it 'the final frontier of the gender war.' Howell told HuffPost her point was less about bathroom time itself and more about whether both partners get to close a door and trust the house won't fall apart without them.
