The Senate passed several bills this week including a stopgap funding measure through December 11, the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act authorizing secondary tariffs on Russian oil buyers, and confirmed 74 nominees en bloc including ambassadors and DC judges.

Todd Blanche, previously Trump's defense lawyer and acting deputy attorney general, was confirmed as Attorney General 50-49, with Democrats like Sen. Hickenlooper arguing he'd be loyal to Trump rather than the Constitution. A cloture motion on a photo ID voting requirement bill failed 52-46, short of the needed three-fifths majority.

An amendment to strip tariff authority from the Russia sanctions bill failed 32-64, while a hemp regulation rollback amendment was tabled 61-32.
