Ukrainian Railways denied a Telegram monitoring channel's claim that Russia struck rail infrastructure near Kyiv's Central Railway Station on Sept. 2, urging the public to trust only its official channels. The denial came amid repeated air raid alerts across Kyiv and the surrounding region over Shahed drone threats that day.
An explosion was heard in the capital and the Kyiv City Military Administration confirmed air defenses were active, with monitoring channels reporting a drone over the city center near two metro stations. The dispute follows a deadlier strike days earlier that killed eight people at a train station in Kyiv Oblast.

When the shooting is real but the target is disputed, somebody's going to end up wrong in public. This time it is a rumor mill against a railway's press office, and neither one has much reason to be believed on faith alone. Best anybody can do is wait for the tracks themselves to have an opinion.
