Ukraine confirms strikes on Admiral Essen frigate and two other Russian warships

Ukraine's General Staff reported strikes on at least three Russian warships at the Novorossiysk naval base in Krasnodar Krai on September 10, including damage to the minesweeper Zheleznyakov, the frigate Admiral Essen, and the landing ship Pyotr Morgunov. Open-source group Exilenova+ released satellite imagery it said showed additional damage to a Buyan-M corvette and the frigate Admiral Makarov, describing burned-out superstructures.

A prior day's strikes on Novorossiysk and Anapa reportedly destroyed a Su-33 fighter jet, an Mi-8 helicopter, and radar complexes, according to Ukraine's unmanned systems commander. Zelenskyy and the General Staff formally confirmed the raid targeted Kalibr cruise missile carriers berthed in the harbor.
