A Nevada judge dismissed the criminal case against six Republicans, including state party chair Michael McDonald, who signed a certificate falsely declaring Trump the winner of Nevada's 2020 election despite Biden winning by more than 30,000 votes. The judge found insufficient evidence of intent to deceive government officials and said the state failed to disclose exculpatory evidence to the grand jury.

This is the fourth fake elector case to be dismissed, following similar outcomes in Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia; a case remains ongoing in Wisconsin. Nevada Attorney General Aaron Ford, who brought the charges and is now running for governor, plans to appeal.

The defendants argued their signing ceremony, broadcast publicly, was 'political theater' meant to preserve legal challenges rather than deceive anyone, since it was never hidden from view.
