Supermarket warehouses burn in Odesa Oblast after strike

Russian forces struck warehouse facilities in Odesa Oblast overnight on Sept. 21, sparking a large fire at a site Ukraine's State Emergency Service says had been hit before.

More than 80 rescuers fought the blaze while repeated air raid alerts interrupted their work; officials reported no deaths or injuries. The regional governor said the facilities belonged to a grocery supermarket chain.

The strike was part of a larger overnight assault in which Russia launched 172 drones and decoys, of which Ukrainian air defenses say they downed or suppressed 147. Fires also broke out in Boyarka, Kyiv Oblast, and in Zaporizhzhya, where five people were injured and a university building was damaged.
