The Institute for the Study of War reported Russian forces are massing armored vehicles near Dobropillia and preparing mechanized attacks this fall, according to Ukrainian 1st Azov Corps commander Denys Prokopenko, who said three Russian combined arms armies and roughly 1,200 Rubicon drone crews are involved. Russian assault units of about 200 troops are expected to be reinforced with mechanized columns of around 50 vehicles.

Prokopenko said Russia's offensive likely peaks this month before shifting tactics in October, aiming to capture at least one settlement for a fall foothold. ISW notes both sides are experimenting with mechanized maneuver, with Ukrainian efforts proving more effective so far.

Separately, Ukraine's Third Army Corps commander confirmed an offensive, code-named Vivaldi, in northern Donetsk Oblast that has cleared 75 square kilometers and liberated 10, inflicting roughly 1,500 Russian casualties and destroying more than 12,000 drones along with armored vehicles and artillery. ISW concluded the operation disrupted Russia's plan to encircle Ukraine's fortress-city belt from the north.
