Donald and Melania Trump walked into the Rose Garden holding hands on Thursday, in what body language experts told HuffPost was a deliberate display, marking the first lady's first public appearance in over a month. She opened with, 'I heard you missed me. Here I am,' after skipping recent high-profile events including the rescheduled White House Correspondents' Dinner and Lindsey Graham's funeral.

Behavioral scientist Abbie Maroño described the interaction as a 'controlled, coordinated display of unity,' contrasting it with past moments where the first lady pulled her hand away, including a widely circulated 2020 tarmac clip and two instances during a 2017 overseas trip. Maroño cautioned that none of this proves anything changed in the relationship.

Psychologist Denise Dudley added that she saw none of the fidgeting or self-touching sometimes associated with discomfort in Thursday's appearance.
