Louisiana AG returns to 5th Circuit seeking end to telehealth abortion meds

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill returned to the 5th Circuit seeking to strike down the FDA policy allowing mifepristone prescriptions via telehealth without an in-person visit, a rule dating to a 2023 Biden-era change.

The Supreme Court already paused a similar 5th Circuit block of the policy last year and has kept it in place while Louisiana's case proceeds, with the FDA's own safety review not due until October.

Murrill acknowledged the Trump administration has so far declined to act on its own, instead expressing hope that a pending FDA nominee could eliminate the need for her lawsuit if confirmed.

It says something when the administration you voted for won't even do the thing you're suing a federal agency to force. Murrill keeps showing up to the same courthouse hoping the third try sticks, like a fisherman convinced the same spot will finally produce different fish. Meanwhile the actual safety review everyone claims to be waiting on still isn't finished.
