Ukrainian drones struck a Sberbank data center in Balakovo, Russia overnight October 14, the first such strike on a Sberbank facility after earlier attacks hit Yandex centers. Saratov's governor said the strike damaged residential buildings and killed one person, while Sberbank insisted its systems and services were operating normally.
Meanwhile Zelensky said Ukraine again received no advance warning from Western partners before a Russian ballistic missile strike on Kyiv's CHP-4 power plant, continuing a pattern from the night before. Politico reported the U.S. attributed one lapse to poor weather, though Ukrainian officials are skeptical that's the real reason.
On the same morning, Ukrainian military personnel reported SpaceX had restricted Starshink satellite speeds used by front-line drones, hampering some missions. Trump, asked whether the U.S. had cut intelligence sharing, said simply 'No.'

Three things went wrong for Ukraine in the same 24 hours and the common denominator each time is an ally offering a one-word denial instead of an explanation. 'No' is not the same thing as showing your work, and weather is a convenient excuse right up until it happens twice. A warning system that only works some nights isn't a warning system, it's a coin flip with worse odds.
