Ossoff campaign ads use a fragment of a 2025 Collins radio interview, 'get off of Social Security, get back into the workforce,' to claim Collins wants to push seniors off the program. The full quote also references Medicaid and frames it as making work more financially advantageous, not forced removal.

Collins' campaign says he 'misspoke' about Social Security and meant Medicaid, though he never corrected himself in the 15-minute interview. The ads separately claim Collins voted to 'gut Social Security' via a failed balanced budget amendment, which the Trustees' report suggests could worsen the program's finances if Congress took no other action.

Both campaigns here are playing the same game: find a sentence, cut it where it sounds worst, and let the viewer fill in the rest. Collins says he misspoke but never got around to correcting himself on the air, which is a hard sell for a candidate asking to be trusted with the actual policy. Cutting a quote in half is a time-honored trick, but repeating the same half twice like it needs the encore is just showing your work.
