Donald Trump rallied a crowd in Myrtle Beach ahead of Tuesday's South Carolina Senate runoff between Darline Graham, sister of the late Lindsey Graham, and Ralph Norman, who finished second in the Aug. 11 primary with 25% of the vote to Graham's less-than-a-third.

Trump's speech ran well over an hour, touching on foreign investment, the Strait of Hormuz, the Village People, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, and communism, with occasional mentions of Graham's first name inserted throughout. He did not offer any biographical detail on the candidate he came to endorse until 39 minutes in.

Graham took the stage after 44 minutes and spoke for three, thanking Trump and leading chants of USA before some attendees began leaving. The winner faces Democrat Annie Andrews in November in a state that reliably favors Republicans.

A political party that can seat someone by surname alone has quietly admitted its primaries are a formality with a sound system, and the voters are being asked to ratify a favor rather than make a choice. The remarkable part is that this is considered a rally and not a receipt.
