The White House announced one-time payments of $90 per person to help more than 20 million Medicare enrollees cover Part B premiums, drawn from something called the Medicare Improvement Fund.
The administration's fact sheet describes this as the first time any president has used that fund this way, and frames it as proof that money is going to people instead of special interests.
The fact sheet does not say what happens after the one-time payment, how the fund is otherwise used, or how $90 compares to the premium increases enrollees have faced.
