UK pledges £100M for Ukraine air defenses, including Patriot missiles

The UK will provide £100 million ($135 million) for Ukrainian air defenses this winter, including Patriot interceptors, large-caliber artillery ammunition and drones, delivered through NATO's Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List. Defense Secretary Wes Streeting is co-chairing the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, roughly 50 supplying nations, alongside German counterpart Boris Pistorius.

Streeting said the visits to Kyiv made clear the need to help Ukraine through winter as Russia targets civilian and energy infrastructure. The pledge follows separate EU moves, including approval for Ukraine to buy Patriot missiles using funds from the bloc's €90 billion loan facility.
