Russia launches 161 drones and missile at Ukraine; strikes hit Kyiv high-rise

Russian forces launched an S8000 Banderol missile and 161 drones at Ukraine overnight into September 11, according to the Ukrainian Air Force. Air defense units intercepted or neutralized 138 of the drones, with impacts confirmed at 19 locations and debris landing at three more.

A drone strike hit a nine-story residential building in Kyiv's Dniprovskyi district, sparking a fire and injuring at least seven civilians. Fires also broke out at warehouses in the Bucha district, and explosions and air defense activity were reported in Zaporizhzhya, Sumy, and other regions.

The Air Force said Russian strike drones remained active in Ukrainian airspace into the morning.
