Charlie Cook, founder of the Cook Political Report, told ABC's Martha Raddatz that Republicans are facing a midterm reckoning driven by voter anger over prices, fuel costs and tariffs, all converging at once. He called the coming shift a 'red undertow' rather than a blue wave, meaning it's less enthusiasm for Democrats than backlash against Trump and the Republicans who backed him.

Cook predicted Democrats will flip 20 or more House seats, a chamber he called 'kind of a done deal for a good while,' and possibly four Senate seats, enough to flip that chamber too, though he cautioned some of those Senate races remain close.
