A Quinnipiac poll of 970 registered voters found 49% want Democrats to control the House versus 38% for Republicans, an 11-point gap, with approval ratings for congressional Democrats and Republicans sitting at 21% and 26% respectively. President Trump received a 59% disapproval rating, with his lowest-ever Quinnipiac marks on the economy, the military, and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Sixty percent of voters disapprove of Trump's White House ballroom construction, recently cleared by the Supreme Court, and 70% oppose his renaming of Lake Ontario to 'Lake America.' On trade, 62% oppose his handling of Canada relations amid an ongoing tariff fight, and voters are split three ways on the continuing war with Iran, now in its seventh month.

✒ FROM THE EDITORIAL DESK
When 70 percent of the country turns thumbs down on renaming a lake, that's not a policy dispute, that's just people telling you the joke isn't landing. A president posting his worst-ever marks on the economy and the military in the same poll that shows a ballroom nobody wanted is a rough couple of weeks by any measure. The numbers don't editorialize, they just sit there, which is worse for him than if they shouted.
