Russia keeps attacking Ukrainian data centers, calling it a ‘mandatory digital detox’

Russian forces struck multiple data centers and office buildings in Kyiv and Dnipro over the past week, including facilities run by Datagroup and Cosmonova, disrupting television broadcasts and cutting internet access for some residents. Russia's Defense Ministry said it targeted the centers because they process and transmit intelligence data for Ukraine's military, then posted an image of a drone captioned 'Digital detox. Mandatory!'

A strike also hit Kyiv's National Academy of Sciences building, near a Ukrtelecom office and the German Embassy, and a Dnipro strike caused damage and casualties at another office building. Ukrainian Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi said all infrastructure remains at risk until the war ends and that authorities are seeking unconventional solutions to keep communications running.

Calling an airstrike a 'digital detox' is the kind of joke you make when you're fairly sure nobody's going to make you answer for it. It's one thing to bomb a data center and call it a military target, it's another to slap a wellness slogan on the wreckage like you're selling a spa weekend. The people who lost their internet and their television signal probably didn't feel especially detoxed.
