The Colorado Supreme Court declined to hear Tina Peters' appeal, closing off her last avenue to challenge the convictions tied to letting an unauthorized person into restricted election offices using a false identity. Governor Jared Polis had already commuted her nine-year prison sentence, citing her status as a first-time, nonviolent offender.

With the high court's refusal, Peters' record stands as convicted, even though she will not serve out the original sentence.
